BELLATO FARM

Julie and David Bellato talked us through their summer cropping program. We learnt about soybean planting, production and grading all while trying soy milk cocktails made by the Bellato daughters!

PRICKLE HILL FARM

We visited Jo & Roy's jujube orchard and packing line. We heard about the history and operations of the Prickle Hill Farm. We were lucky enough to taste test some prunes and homemade sauces and jams!

MUDDY DUCK CAFE

We enjoyed a delicious dinner made by Julie and her team from some of the ingredients they grow on their farm. We had a crack at making pasta and trying some of the bellato's own popping corn!

AUGUST 2025

Water Insights Evening Recap

Our recent Water Insights Evening at the Gem Hotel, Friday 22nd August 2025, was a great success. We had about 20 young aggies, coming from all corners of our MI catchment.

Our speakers Matt Woodward from the MDBA and Dave from Breed and Hutchison covered topics including water recovery, buybacks, inter-valley trading, cultural water, pricing and upcoming allocations.

Callum Stewart from B&H also touched on the livestock markets, and what we can expect to see in the next few months regarding breeding stock numbers, supply and pricing.

We hope to hold this event each year, so your feedback and suggestions are always welcome.
